Oxycirrhites typus
The Longnose Hawkfish has a white body covered in a vivid red grid-like pattern and a distinctively long, narrow snout, typically found perched among gorgonians and black corals. In the aquarium it uses its pectoral fins to 'stand' on coral branches while scanning for food. Like all hawkfish it will prey on ornamental shrimp and very small fish.
