Halichoeres melanurus
The Melanurus Wrasse is a vibrant, active fish displaying striking color variations that shift as it matures — males typically showing brilliant greens, pinks, and a distinctive tail spot. While it won't harm corals, it will eat snails, hermit crabs, small ornamental shrimp, and bristleworms — so expect your cleanup crew to disappear. Provide a tight-fitting lid and sandy substrate for sleeping, as wrasses are notorious jumpers.
